The RAeS Boscombe Down Branch invites you to attend the following Evening Lecture
The Wiltshire Air Ambulance
Mr Martin Western

BOSCOMBE DOWN / 12th JANUARY 2016

Martin joined the Army in 1966 as a boy soldier and became an Electronics Technician in the Royal Signals. Upon discovering that stamping around Germany covered in mud was not for him, he decided to go flying with the Army Air Corps in 1977.

He served in Germany in 9 Regt and 3 Regt Army Air Corps before attending CFS qualifying as QHI in 1983 and has served worldwide as well as completing three tours instructing at Middle Wallop, as SO3 Flying Training at HQ Land Command, and as Officer Commanding 671 Sqn AAC.

Martin left the Army in 2005 and joined Aviation Training International at Middle Wallop on Apache.

He retired in 2015 with 6500 hours on rotary wing aircraft and joined Wiltshire Air Ambulance as Volunteer Speaker.

The first Royal Aeronautical Society lecture of 2016 will feature Martin Western from the Wiltshire Air Ambulance, delivering a lecture on the air ambulance’s operations and their recently acquired Bell 429 helicopter.  We hope to see many of you there – join us for tea and coffee from 1700, with the lecture beginning at 1715.
